The mound was excavated and the Pillar was re-erected on the mound in the late eighteenth century. At this time, a new inscription was added at this time, commemorating a local family and their affinity to this ancient monument.

That which remains of this old monument, long removed from eyes and neglected, T. Lloyd of Trevor Hall finally restored AD 1779.
